Kanpur Boat Club its Journey from Inception to Completion

In Kanpur, would not be out of context to say that, the River Ganga is the major factor of development of Kanpur. As Britishers in India gaining a foothold, they developed Kanpur as a major industrial city of India because of the availability of transport facilities through the River Ganga. In the decade of 70s, the flow of the River Ganga diverted towards Unnao, due to which the urban right bank of Kanpur became waterless and the development of Kanpur came to a halt. In the year 2005, after the construction of Ganga Barrage which was completed by the Urban Development, River Ganga started flowing again on the right urban coast of Kanpur city after about 36 years, resultant the urban banks of the Ganga and the Ghats became full of water and a pleasant atmosphere established all around.
